 Hello! So I realized that I don't have any pages in my blog, so creating them now! Anyways, I created this blog in late June, 2020. I was super bored during quarantine, and one of my friends inspired me to create a blog! I've actually blogged before, but that was when I was in second grade, and unfortunately lost the details of that blog as it was made from school. 

So, what's Book! And Sometimes Other Fun Stuff about? Well, as the title suggests, I post a lot of content related to books! You can find book reviews from quite a few different genres (but I'm trying to include more diverse books from now on), comparisons of book related things, quizzes etc. I also occasionally do reviews on applications, games and movies. 

Just a quick disclaimer that the reviews are based on my opinions, and not sponsored, so of course you may have different views on them. I don't include the age ratings for the books, as honestly, I'm not really sure if I can judge on that, as everyone has different reading levels. However, from now on, I'll try to at least mark which books can be read by pre-teens or are limited to teenagers. 

Something I've been adding more recently is tricks and tips on different things, from how to ace your online classes, to the do's and definitely dont's of glass painting. There are also several tips on writing, whether on a blog, a short story or a novel. I also discuss about random things that come to my head, like letter writing and trope discussions. 

I created this blog mainly for fun, and hey, my writing skills are improving, so why not? Any comments or feedback is highly appreciated, though please make sure the comments are appropriate! Any inappropriate content will be deleted.

Also, in case you're wondering, my handwriting looks NOTHING like this. The font that actually looks similar to mine is quite hard to read, so I guess that tells you a lot about my handwriting in real life!

Note: This blog post is going to be a little bit different, as it's neither a review nor a list of something, but rather just a thought based discussion. I actually tried writing this a while back, but I wasn't sure where I was going with it, so I deleted it. This time, I thought I'd just go along with it! An Actually Important Chat

Hello everyone. So first of all, you may be wondering why I didn't post yesterday. Usually, it'd be because I didn't have the time, or the right inspiration.  But eventually I would find time and inspiration and write something, right?  Yeah, not this time.  Creativity block? Maybe. It's true, it's been weeks since I've worked on my WIPs.  But I guess the real reason is that I've been working every week on this blog not for myself, but for everyone reading it. I realized, while frantically scrolling through 'Post Ideas' lists on the internet on Thursday, I feel like I have to write because I have to, not because I want to. Review - The Storm Runner - J.C. Cervantes

I remember learning about the Incas in 4th grade, but not about the Maya civilization. And I had basically zero idea about their myths and legends. So The Storm Runner seemed like a good pick.  Zane has an actual volcano near his home, which he likes to explore with his dog Rosie. Even if hiking isn't easy, because one of his legs is shorter than the other. But things get a little more... interesting and complicated , when he meets a girl named Brooks in his new school, who wasn't even in the school records. So, does he get tangled in some mega Maya problems? One word- yes .  The story was very cool, and I didn't expect this particular book to cover all the things it did (I thought it would have a shorter plot, and all the solution will take place in the other books in the trilogy).
